Card counting: strategy or cheating?
Blackjack is a very popular game with a lot people and it has been around in the casino for as long as we can remember. Particularly in the last 30/40 years the game has developed itself into a modern source of entertainment. However, not all the developments have been entirely positive. Cheating is not highly advisable, because if you get caught you may be banned from the (online) casino for the rest of your life. On the other hand: it wouldn’t do any harm to inform yourself about all the cheating techniques, because that knowledge might be useful if you become a victim of collusion yourself.
Sometimes there is a very thin line between cheating and using a strategy. For instance, many blackjack players have adopted methods of card counting, which has always been subject to discussion. Card counting is not forbidden by law. Courts have ruled that card counting is an allowable strategy as long as you are using your own head. Special software or other aides are not permitted.
Casino’s are no big fans of card counting and they treat everyone who is more clever than the bank with suspicion. Sometimes they even through card counters out, despite the law.
